Town will be hoping that Bury can do them a favour on Saturday but must focus on their own game before thinking about results elsewhere. After Shrewsbury took advantage of Wycombe's goalless draw against Torquay last Friday night by beating rivals Hereford 2-0 at Edgar Street, Town were looking to retain that place with a good result at home to play-off chasing Accrington Stanley. The visitors held Graham Turner's men to a stalemate, and with Wycombe beating Crewe, Town lost the third automatic spot and fell to fourth.
The Blues now face an interesting tie against Cheltenham Town who have only won once in April- a month where they were annihilated 8-1 against Crewe Alexandra, their only win came last time out where they defeated Lincoln City 2-0 away. Cheltenham are still in a relegation battle but only require another point to be safe and it looks like they should survive. Town have a lot to play for, after Chesterfield drew 0-0 with Torquay United last night, Bury are now just 3 points behind the league leaders and have a better goal difference. A win against Wycombe would see the Shakers go top of the table, and would also be of much help to Shrewsbury in the promotion race.
Prediction: Cheltenham Town 1-3 Shrewsbury Town
